Frequently Asked

How much is a Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat (Van Gogh) PSA 10 worth?

We're still building the price history for this card — our radar checks it a few times a day, and a fair value appears once a scan finds 6+ live listings that provably match this exact card. Until then, recent sold listings on eBay are the best reference.

What card is this exactly?

It's the Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat (Van Gogh) from SVP Black Star Promo, card number 085, professionally graded 10 by PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator). The grade and cert number on the slab make this exact card identifiable and priceable — that's why our radar tracks graded copies only.

Why do prices for the same card vary so much?

Grade is most of the story: a single grade step can move the price dramatically, and even within one grade, listings differ on seller reputation, photo quality, and shipping. That spread is exactly what our radar watches — when someone lists a legitimate copy well below the going rate, it shows up on our deal board. Card grading, explained simply →

Where can I find one below market price?

Our Deal Radar scans live eBay listings for this card and publishes anything priced at least 10% below the fair value we compute. Nothing qualifies at this moment, but our radar sweeps eBay all day and re-checks this card a few times a day — deal-priced listings appear badged in the Available Now rail on this page, or browse the full deal board.

The museum card

This is the card that put Pokémon in an actual art museum. In 2023 the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam ran a Pokémon collaboration, and visitors who completed a scavenger hunt got this promo — Pikachu posing as Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat. The museum ran out almost immediately, scalpers descended, and the museum eventually pulled the giveaway entirely. That messy origin story is exactly why the card holds attention: it's a genuine one-time distribution with a hard stop.

What to look for in listings

  • The cert, always. PSA 10 population on this card is large — it was

handed out in pack-fresh condition — so the slab label and cert number are what you're buying. Verify the cert on PSA's site if the price seems too good.

  • Watch for the jumbo. There's an oversized version and endless

reprints, posters, and framed prints. Our radar filters those out with negative keywords, but if you shop on your own, read titles carefully.

  • Grey vs. gray. Sellers spell the hat both ways. The misspelled

listings are where quiet deals hide.

How the market has treated it

Supply is genuinely fixed but large, so this trades more like a modern staple than a rarity: prices drifted down from the 2023 frenzy, then found a floor as the story kept getting retold. It's the most liquid card we track — a dozen live asks at any moment — which makes its fair-value line one of the most trustworthy on the site.
