What We Collect
This site (pokeskye.com) is operated by Poke Skye LLC, a Florida limited liability company — “we” and “us” below. It's the entity that holds the little bit of data described here, and the one you write to if you want it gone.
The drop-alerts / waitlist form. If you sign up to hear about drops, we ask for an email address and an optional first name — nothing else. This policy applies wherever that form appears on the site — the home page and the deals board. We never require an account, a password, a phone number, or an address, because we never need them.
Analytics. We use two tools to count page visits and understand which pages are used. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights count visits and measure how fast pages load without setting any cookie. Google Analytics counts visits too, and sets a first-party cookie (named _ga) on pokeskye.com so it can tell “one person came back three times” from “three people came once.” We have turned off Google's advertising features for this site — Google Signals and ad personalization are disabled — so it is not used to build an advertising profile of you, and we never run ads. The visit data Google Analytics collects (pages viewed, rough location by city, browser and device type) is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy. What we see on our side is “the deals page got 200 visits today,” not who you are. How to opt out is under Your Choices.
What we don't collect. No payment information (site orders check out on Shopify's secure checkout and eBay purchases on eBay — this site never sees a card number), no precise location, no contact lists, no data from third-party ad networks. There are no third-party ads on this site.
Why We Collect It
One reason: so we can email you about the things you asked to hear about. There is exactly one mailing list, and two kinds of email on it: a weekly report of what's happening at the shop — auctions that are running, deals the Deal Radar found, drops that are coming up, and cards that are new on the shelf — and a heads-up the afternoon auctions close, one bundled note covering everything that ends that evening. One list, everyone gets the same emails. There are no separate streams to subscribe to and no per-listing alerts.
How often. Two emails most weeks: the report on Thursday morning, and the heads-up on the afternoon the week's auctions close (usually Sunday). Never more than three in a week and never more than one heads-up a day — those caps are written into the code that sends, not left to habit. We'd rather send you a hundred emails a year that are worth opening than a daily drip you learn to ignore. If a week has nothing real to show — no auctions closing, nothing new on the shelf — we skip rather than padding one out.
The optional first name is only so the emails can say hello properly. The analytics numbers help us understand which pages are useful so we can make the site better.
We never sell, rent, or trade your information, and we never use it for advertising.
Where It Lives
A short list of the companies that process data on our behalf, and what each one does:
Supabase hosts our database — the waitlist entries (email, optional first name) live there. Resend sends our emails — the welcome note, the weekly report, and the closing-day heads-up. Resend also tells us when an address has stopped working, or when someone marks an email as spam; either one takes that address off our list automatically, because we would rather stop than keep knocking. Vercel hosts the website and provides the cookie-free visit counts and speed measurements described above. Google provides Google Analytics; the visit data it collects is stored and processed by Google, with its advertising features switched off as described above.
Each of these providers processes data only to provide their service to us. We share your information with no one else, unless the law genuinely requires it.
Checking Out Here
When you check out your cart, you finish on Shopify's secure checkout. Your name, address and payment details go to Shopify, not to this site, and are handled under Shopify's Privacy Policy. This site only notes that the button was pressed, the same way it counts other clicks.
Children's Privacy
Poke Skye is a family project — Skye runs the shop, and her parents review, pack, and ship every order. A lot of our visitors are kids, and we designed for that on purpose:
The signup form asks for an email and an optional first name, and if you're a kid we'd rather it were a parent's email — the grown-up gets the emails and stays in the loop. There are no accounts, no profiles, no chat, and no way for a child to publish anything here. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The under-13 rule, in plain words. We no longer ask for an age when you sign up. For a while the form did, and any earlier signup that stated an age under 13 still never receives marketing email from us — not the weekly report, not the closing-day heads-up, not anything else. That isn't a preference someone has to set: it's written into the code that decides who gets mailed, it's checked on every single send rather than stored once, and it has a test that fails the build if it ever stops working.
If you're a parent and believe a child submitted their own email or other personal information, write to us at hello@pokeskye.com and we'll delete it promptly — no questions, no hoops.
Your Choices
Unsubscribe. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click. No account, no password, no “tell us why” — you click it, we confirm it, and that address stops hearing from us — the report and the heads-up both, because it's one list. If your email app shows its own unsubscribe button next to our name, that works too; our emails are set up for it. You can also just reply and say “stop” — a human reads it.
Deletion. Email hello@pokeskye.com and ask us to delete your waitlist entry, and we will — completely, from our database, promptly. You don't need to give a reason.
Opting out of analytics. To keep Google Analytics from counting your visits here (and everywhere else), install Google's own Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Or block or clear the analytics cookie with your browser's cookie settings — the site works exactly the same without it. Most content blockers stop it too, and nothing on the site asks you to turn them off.
Questions. Ask us what we have about you and we'll tell you. (It will be a short answer.)
Data Stored on Your Device
Some features save small bits of data in your own browser's local storage so they work without an account — small preferences like sound or display settings, for example. That data never leaves your browser and we can't see it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Cookies. Two kinds, and we'd rather you knew exactly which:
Necessary. The site sets no login or session cookie, because there are no accounts. The one cookie of our own is a flag we set on the shop family's own devices so our visit counts leave out our own visits — it never gets set in your browser, and if it did it would carry nothing but that flag.
Analytics. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) that hold a random ID so it can count returning visits. They belong to pokeskye.com, not to an ad network; they don't follow you to other sites, and we have disabled Google's advertising features for them. You can opt out or block them as described under Your Choices, and nothing on the site depends on them. We don't use cookies for advertising, and no third party is allowed to set one here.
Changes to This Policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. For a meaningful change — say, collecting something new — we'll also tell the mailing list before it takes effect. We won't quietly move the goalposts.
Contact
Privacy questions, deletion requests, or anything else: email hello@pokeskye.com, or message us through our eBay store. A parent answers — usually fast.
This policy is effective as of September 26, 2026.
